ACCC and SLACK Inc Announce Oncology Issues Now on SLACK Journal Host
Feb. 16, 2023
THOROFARE, N.J. – SLACK Incorporated (SLACK) and the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) jointly announced that Oncology Issues is now published by the ACCC on SLACK Journal Host at Journals.Healio.com. SLACK Journal Host is a self-publishing option that provides access to a state-of-the-art content management platform at an affordable price.
While most single-title and short-line publishers would prefer to self-publish to retain control over content, strategy, and finances of their publishing operation, the high cost of publishing technology that meets member and user expectations is prohibitive. SLACK Journal Host lowers the barrier of entry for self-publishing by amortizing the cost of building and maintaining the platform among multiple publishers, including SLACK itself.
For ACCC, the opportunity to publish on its own terms for a reasonable investment is what attracted them to SLACK Journal Host. “ACCC views the journal as its most important communications vehicle and a significant member benefit,” said Mark Liu, MHA, Senior Director of Oncology Strategy, Transformation & Analytics, Oncology Service Line, Mount Sinai Health System & Tisch Cancer Institute, and Editor-in-Chief of Oncology Issues. “SLACK Journal Host allows ACCC complete control of its publishing strategy at a price that fits the Association’s budget.”
Oncology Issues, now in its 38th year of publication, is a non-clinical, operational journal providing “how-to” articles for the entire multidisciplinary oncology care team on a wide range of topics. The journal can be accessed directly at Journals.Healio.com/OncologyIssues.
SLACK Journal Host’s content management platform, Atypon Literatum, is built on industry-leading technology that provides readers with an intuitive experience and simple navigation, relying on the power of gold-standard metadata to deliver SLACK’s health care content designed for any device.
