GAPNA Announces Partnership with SLACK Journals; Journal of Gerontological Nursing Named New Official Journal of GAPNA

THOROFARE, NJ — The Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with SLACK Journals, naming the Journal of Gerontological Nursing (JGN) as the new official journal of GAPNA.

This partnership brings together two organizations with a shared commitment to advancing gerontological nursing practice, education, and scholarship.

“This new partnership between JGN and GAPNA represents a superb opportunity for collaboration between two organizations with a history of seeking to advance the nursing profession,” said Tony Schiavo, Senior Vice President of SLACK Journals. “JGN has served as a forum for original research and new ideas in gerontological nursing for over 50 years.

We are looking forward to sharing our content with the members of GAPNA and providing GAPNA members with a publishing outlet for their own high-quality scholarship and research.”

Through this partnership, GAPNA members will receive electronic access to the Journal of Gerontological Nursing, a respected, peer-reviewed publication focused on advancing clinical practice, education, and research in the care of older adults. The journal will be delivered in a fully electronic format, providing convenient, on-demand access for GAPNA members.

As the official journal of GAPNA, the Journal of Gerontological Nursing will feature bimonthly columns written by members of GAPNA’s editorial team, Katy Vickers, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, and George Peraza-Smith, DNP, A-GNP-C, GNP-BC, GS-C, FAANP. These columns will address timely topics relevant to gerontological advanced practice nurses, offering practical insights that support excellence in care across settings.

All GAPNA members will receive access to the Journal of Gerontological Nursing through the GAPNA website, reinforcing GAPNA’s commitment to providing high-quality educational resources that support professional development and leadership in gerontological nursing practice.
