Healio Gastroenterology to celebrate Disruptive Innovators at ACG

Thorofare, NJ — Healio is set to host the annual gastroenterology and hepatology Disruptive Innovators Award Reception during this year’s American College of Gastroenterology Scientific Meeting (ACG). The event will take place at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown on October 26th, 2025.
This event will recognize the pioneers and trailblazers shaping the future gastroenterology. From emerging leaders to lifetime disruptors, each of the awardees has made a lasting impact through innovation and dedication to advancing the field. This year, Anita Afzali, MD, MPH, FACG, will step in as host for Edward V. Loftus, Jr., MD, alongside Ugo Iroku, MD.
“It is a privilege to return to host the Disruptive Innovators Awards and to recognize the individuals moving our field forward,” said Ugo Iroku, MD. “The winners are an inspiration to all of us who strive to make a difference.”
Healio Gastroenterology will honor Disruptive Innovators in nine different categories:
- Clinical Innovation (Awarded in collaboration with the American College of Gastroenterology)
- Rising Disruptive Innovator (Awarded in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic)
- Lifetime Disruptor (Awarded in collaboration with Women in Endoscopy)
- Woman Disruptor of the Year (Awarded in collaboration with Scrubs & Heels)
- Social Media Influencer (Awarded in collaboration with Healio Community)
- The Patient Voice (Awarded in collaboration with The Association for Black Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists)
- Health Equity Award
- Industry Breakthrough
- Partner in Practice (Awarded in collaboration with the ROME Foundation)
