Thorofare, NJ — Healio announced today that it has achieved a major milestone, the 40-year anniversary of Healio/Ocular Surgery News. In a year-long celebration of the anniversary, Healio will be sharing ophthalmology’s major milestones, innovations and challenges of the last four decades.
“It’s been an incredible journey for Ocular Surgery News since its founding in 1981,” said Peter N. Slack, President and CEO of The Wyanoke Group, the parent company of Healio. “We are eternally grateful to all those who supported the publication throughout the years and excited to see what’s to come in the next 40 years.”
To commemorate 40 years in ophthalmology, Healio created a special anniversary website where visitors can look back on the publication’s first 40 years through an interactive timeline, showcasing memories and milestone contributions from physicians in the field.
“There have been groundbreaking revolutions to ophthalmic techniques and technologies over the past four decades,” said Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, Chief Content Officer of Healio. “We created this timeline to celebrate these accomplishments and how far the field of ophthalmology has come.”
In addition to the timeline, Healio and Ocular Surgery News will publish features such as innovations of the decade, spotlights on key opinion leaders and editorial board members, and a look ahead to the future of ophthalmology all throughout the year.
