Healio Receives Honorable Mention in 2020 Folio Magazine: Eddie & Fozzie Awards

THOROFARE, N.J., Oct. 1, 2020 – Healio is pleased to announce that it earned recognition from Folio Magazine’s 2020 Eddie & Fozzie Awards for its COVID-19 Resource Center. The honorable mention comes in the category of Business to Business News Coverage.
Healio wrote its first article on a new illness that would later be named COVID-19 on January 7, 2020. The article “SARS-like illness has infected dozens in China” became the anchor of the Healio COVID-19 Resource Center, which launched February 18, 2020.
From January 7 to May 31, Healio posted 600 articles on COVID-19 and continues coverage today. Article readership increased by 37% during this timeframe, as physicians read COVID-19 content created exclusively for them.
Healio recognized the importance creating of a resource center dedicated to the ongoing coverage of this pandemic. Providing physicians with accurate and timely news through the easily accessible COVID-19 Resource Center became a necessity.
“Our news team made educating physicians across 25 medical specialties their top priority. More importantly, we knew it would be most effective to produce specialized news in all 25 areas. By creating a resource center, we provided an easily accessible source where all COVID-19 updates could be accessed,” said Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, Healio Chief Content Officer. “When we received the award, I checked to see the status of our COVID-19 Resource Center. From our first article on January 7 to September 22, we have written more than 1,250 articles on what would later be known as COVID-19.”
