Vindico Medical Education Poster Presentation During ADA 83rd Scientific Sessions

June 28, 2023

Thorofare, NJ – Vindico Medical Education, A Wyanoke Company, is pleased to announce that their poster “Identifying and Addressing Educational Needs Regarding the Increased Risk of Complications Due to Influenza Infection in People With Diabetes” was presented by Ben Carson, Outcomes Analyst, during the American Diabetes Association’s 83rd Scientific Sessions earlier this week.

The poster highlighted outcomes from a Vindico-provided continuing education activity in which nearly 2,000 PCPs who see patients with diabetes participated. The analysis showed that PCPs had inadequate knowledge regarding the increased risk of adverse outcomes due to influenza infection in patients with diabetes, which translated into deficiencies in the prevention and management of influenza in this high-risk population. Postlearning, there was an overall 49% increase in knowledge, and 89% of participants had implemented practice changes toward improved patient outcomes, including earlier identification of influenza and intervention for patients with diabetes and flu-like symptoms.
